Ricochet Social

Collins | Webb Architecture partnered with Ricochet Social to bring the Des Moines-based entertainment concept to Kansas City, transforming approximately 11,000 square feet within Grand Place into a high-energy social gaming, hospitality, and event destination.

Located in the historic former Kansas City Star complex in the Crossroads, the project blends the character of the existing industrial building with a vibrant, contemporary interior designed around gathering, competition, and connection. Exposed brick, open structure, and the building’s original architectural character provide the backdrop for a dynamic mix of gaming areas, lounge spaces, and a central bar experience.

The space was thoughtfully planned to balance the energy of an open entertainment venue with flexible areas that can accommodate everything from a casual night out to private parties and large corporate events. Ping pong, billiards, shuffleboard, darts, foosball, Skee-Ball, and other social games are integrated throughout the venue, creating distinct experiences while maintaining connectivity across the space.

Ricochet demonstrates how adaptive reuse can give an existing building new life while creating an experience that feels distinctly connected to its surroundings. The result is a hospitality destination that celebrates the history of the space while introducing a completely new way to gather, play, and experience Kansas City.
