Ellis Glen

Collins | Webb Architecture, in collaboration with a repeat client, partnered on the design of Ellis Glen — an urban infill, mixed-use development helping expand the footprint and energy of Downtown Lee's Summit. Positioned along Market Street, the project was thoughtfully designed to strengthen the connection between downtown living, walkability, and street-level activity while supporting the continued revitalization of the surrounding district.

The three-story development features approximately 9,000 SF of commercial space at street level with 26 residential units above, ranging from studio to two-bedroom apartments. The exterior architecture blends masonry, stone, large-format cementitious panels, and lap siding to create a modern aesthetic that still complements the historic character of downtown Lee’s Summit. Large storefront openings, activated entries, outdoor balconies, and pedestrian-focused design elements help create an engaging streetscape for both residents and visitors.

A major focus of Ellis Glen was maximizing livability and density within a constrained downtown site while maintaining a strong architectural presence and human scale along the corridor. The project introduces modern urban living opportunities within walking distance of Downtown Lee’s Summit’s restaurants, retail, entertainment, and community spaces — reinforcing the continued momentum of downtown growth and investment.
