The hospital modernization project was an extremely complex, multi-phased expansion / renovation of one of the USAF’s largest hospitals. A primary goal was to transform the aging, inefficient and disorienting hospital into an inviting, efficient and modern patient-centered healthcare platform. Primary design elements for this project was to simplify wayfinding at both site and building levels, upgrade outpatient and inpatient entries and public spaces, improve interior design aesthetic, create new hybrid and neurological operating rooms, new CT and PET-CT rooms, while offering extensive daylighting and views in occupied spaces. This project experience was gained while at a former architecture firm.
